I can’t believe I’m reviewing
another vampire book, but not only do I think it’s good enough to review, I absolutely loved this book!
Blood Oath by
Christopher Farnsworth is fun, entertaining, unique and
un-put-downable! And it’s just the first in a (hopefully) long series.
Nathanial Cade was on a whaler in the early 19th century when he first
got the urge to drink human blood. After causing some major havoc, he
is arrested and sentenced to death; however, President Andrew Jackson
has a better idea. He believes there is a need for our nation’s
President to have a vampire on his staff. In the present day, Zach
Barrows, has just been assigned the dubious duty of being the liaison
between the White House and Cade but no one could prepare Barrows for
the job of helping to protect our country from zombies, werewolves and
vampires.
Not only is this a thrilling read, it is funny! And clever. Farnsworth
posits that Cade and other supernatural beings have been involved in
most of the cataclysmic events of the last 140 years.
