Twyla Tharp has had a long and successful career as a choreographer and over the years she has collaborated with numerous musicians, dancers, designers,   and audiences.  In this follow-up book to The Creative Habit, Tharp shares with us her successful and, sometimes, unsuccessful collaborations.  Through her experiences she shows us what she has learned and how it has continuously pushed and inspired her in her work, and how we can apply it to our lives.  We learn what to look for in a partnership and how to develop a relationship that brings the best out in everyone.
This is a wonderful book with inspiring examples of successful people, like Norma Kamali and Steve Martin  and how they have collaborated with individuals and groups. There are also many examples of Tharp’s collaborations with artists such as Richard Avedon, Elvis Costello, Bob Dylan, and Mikhail Baryshnikov. As with The Creative Habit these inspirations and lessons are not just for the arts, but they can apply to many aspects of life from professional to personal.      ~Mara
