This no-guilt, drop-in group meets every other month, usually the last Saturday at 8:00pm.

Our book choices tend to be a little edgier than the traditional book club fare, and our discussions are focused yet fun. After about an hour talking about the book, most of us head to a bar or restaurant to socialize. This helps us spend our book club time talking openly and in-depth about the book, then gives us a great opportunity to bond with fellow readers afterwards.

Everyone is welcome to take part in the discussion, and all are encouraged to join us for social time after, too. Remember, they're Saturday nights starting at 8:00.

Come for read-aloud fun for the little ones! Join us at our neighbor, Twirl Cafe, rain or shine on the first Friday of the month. Stories, maybe a little song and dance... we'll have a grand ol' time. (Tegan entertains for about 30 minutes-- and welcomes youngest audience members who need to wander in and out.)

Looking for a heavenly celebration of a great new teen novel? Come to Queen Anne Books' party with Martha Brockenbrough!

This is a special after-hours party, so please try to make it by 5:30, when we close the store for regular business and start the full-on party! Grab your seats for a presentation and reading by Martha, then stick around to shop, mingle, eat, and get your books autographed by one of our favorite local talents. (Insider tip: Martha also has great friends, so you might spot some other amazing authors in the audience!)

In honor of Devine Intervention, we will have angel food cake, devil dogs, and other ambrosial refreshments. We'll also have some special surprises and give-aways. If you pre-order your book through us before the June 1st release date, Martha even has a divine free gift for you!

Mark your calendars and bring your friends. Teens, grown-ups, guardian angels-- everyone will have a harp-plucking good time.

Maria Duenas: The Time In Between

Here's a chance to meet the author of one of Mara's favorite books of 2011!

Maria Duenas, author of The Time in Between, will read and sign her novel (available in paperback July 10, 2012).

We'll start the event during normal store hours, at 6:30, then close the store at 7:00 so it's just us revelers enjoying the reading and reception with Maria Duenas until 8:30.

We will have refreshments and plenty of books for sale, so please bring friends. Why not kick off your weekend by meeting a great author, then dining out on Queen Anne?
