This is a must read for lovers of historical fiction. At the start we meet five families from across the globe as their stories intertwine and connect. Russia, Wales, England, Germany and the United States provide the background for this epic novel.

Even though it is 1000 pages, it is totally readable, engaging and hard to put down. The characters present many different opinions, attitudes and views on events leading up to WWI as well as the war itself The scope of how influential the labor movement becomes, the rise of trade unions, the Russian revolution, and the struggle for women’s rights all have great impact on this period of time.

I hope it’s not too long for Book Two to come out. I am anxious to see what happens next to all of the characters we have gotten to know so well in Book One. ~Cindy
