This is one of those books that when you finish you take a deep breath and then the thinking starts about what you have just read. It is in the category of "autobiographical fiction." The author shares how he felt when he first met his future wife Margaret, how infatuated he was with her, and then their journey together in her battle with bladder cancer and her decision to go home and die with her family around her. Note that the title is not the "perfect" marriage; it has it's flaws, mistakes and turbulence, but at some point in their 29 years together they fall more deeply in love with one another. It has some absolutely stunning descriptions about their relationship and how he feels about the love of his life. Heartbreaking and beautiful. ~Cindy
