Magical, indeed, that is the perfect word for this story. Everybody at Springtime Elementary knows there is something special about Ms. Plum's class and everybody wants to be in her class. There is something special and mysterious about her classroom, especially her supply closet. Full of jars of glue, paper of all colors, crayons, comic books, and well some other less common things. When a student is asked to get something for Ms. Plum from the supply closet they come out with a special animal. These wonderful animals either teaches the student something about themselves, or something the students need to understand about that student. Bonnie Becker and illustrator Amy Portnoy bring Ms. Plum and her classroom to life. I now have this desire for school supplies and to look in all my closets in hopes of finding a little magic in the very back corners of them. Recommended for ages 8-12. ~Mara
