Set in the Shetland Islands this atmospheric mystery has added depth with its characters and historical references. Ann Cleeves is a wonderful writer who kept me captivated and I felt like I could feel the wind, rain, and fog of the Shetland Islands. Though this is the first Ann Cleeves book that I have read it is in fact the third book of the Shetland Island Quartet. Did I feel lost having jumped in on the third one? Absolutely not. Am I going to go back and read the first two? Oh my yes, can't wait. ~Mara
