By the same team that brought us Gnash, Gnaw Dinosaur, Mitton and Chapman has created another lift-the-flap book of poems about dinosaurs. Each two-page spread has a picture of a dinosaur, a poem which describes the beasts most prominent features and a flap which reveals exactly how one of those attributes might work. My favorite? The Elasmosaurus (which I hadn’t heard of): “Lazily I like to bask, drifting in the sea, waiting for my dinner to find its way to me. My head is very tiny and my neck is like a snake, and so I’m built just perfectly to strike down and to take an unsuspecting fish as it swims too near…” [Lift the flap to see the contented smile after dinner is caught]. ~Patti
