My siblings and I had our pictures taken with Santa until we were in our late teens. Many of those photos are so embarrassing my sister tried to destroy them. The Santa photos in this collection remind me that ours are really not so bad. No, these aren’t staged. They’re real photos that people have submitted to the author’s website. That Santa with a bat tattooed on his face, that’s real. The one where his hand is in a seriously not OK place, that’s real, too. I love traditional Christmas – beautiful decorations, hot spiced cider, gifts with Martha-complicated wrapping; but I also love irreverent Christmas – inflatable snowmen on the lawn, bad sweater parties with too much eggnog, and now this book, Sketchy Santas. ~Lillian
