Two great teen authors. Two characters named Will Grayson. One high school musical you’ll never forget.

Teen and adult fans of Nick Hornby (and anyone who liked Levithan’s previous collaboration with Rachel Cohn, Nick & Norah’s Infinite Playlist- book or movie) will love this high school romp. Green and Levithan alternate the storytelling, following two teens in the Chicago area who coincidentally have the same name. You probably already guessed that the Will Graysons meet, but the where, the how, and the what-happens-after are delightfully unexpected.

Both plot lines are both hilarious and moving, but my favorite part—who gets plenty of time in both Wills’ plot lines-- is the biggest, boldest, most fabulous character I’ve read in a while: Tiny Cooper, a huge, fantastically confident gay high school football star, and best friend of one of the Wills. Tiny is writing the musical version of his life: “Tiny Dancer: Hold Me Closer.” Yes, you do get to read some of the songs, and yes, they are as bust-out-laughing funny you hope they would be.
Exuberant and thoroughly enjoyable! ~Tegan
